Sustainability of urban living depends on people’s behavior as much as on technical solutions. Citizens’ participation in re-appropriating and shaping their urban environment is a key element of environmentally, socially and culturally sustainable urban futures. Using multimedia material (films, music), the panel will share experiences of European initiatives in different countries and cities to make urban life more participative, more sustainable and based on better integration of material and immaterial urban cultural heritage with modern lifestyles.
