Who hasn’t heard of R2-D2, the Terminator, and Sonny from I-Robot? Over the past 50 years, Hollywood has played an important role in influencing public perception of advanced technology like robots and artificial intelligence. But as robotics rapidly becomes a critical part of advancing healthcare and green industries, we should start envisioning how to best integrate this advanced technology into our work, home, and public spaces. In this discussion, panelists will examine the western perception of advanced robotic technology based on what we learned from Hollywood.
