Trained as an architect at the Architectural Association in London, Sascha founded Citymart in 2011 to transform the way cities solve problems. To-date, more than 100 cities in 35 countries, including New York City, Long Beach (CA), Dublin, Athens, Barcelona, Accra and Rio de Janeiro have adopted Citymart tools and technology.
Prior to fouding Citymart, Sascha co-founded Living Labs Global in 2003, a non-profit organization promoting service innovation in cities and Interlace-Invent in 2001, a company advising on science & technology, socio-economic and development strategies for cities for clients including Shanghai, ESADE, the Government of Thailand and the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Sascha is recognized as an expert on innovation and public procurement in cities, has authored books on urban innovation and public procurement, has lectured widely at leading global institutions like Chicago University Booth Business School, the London School of Economics and Political Science and served on the selection committee of the Bloomberg Mayor’s Challenge in Latin America. Sascha is recognized as a social innovator and entrepreneur through an Ashoka Fellowship and by being a selected member of the Clinton Global Initiative and on the Advisory Board of the UN Global Compact Cities Programme.
