Sabine Romero has over 20 years of experience in open government, from the international to the local level. Her most recent work with the City of Austin has included four years as their lead elections attorney; four years as their lead ethics attorney; and now as Chief Administrative Officer in their Office of Innovation. Current projects include Austin’s role as a municipal member of the international Open Government Partnership. Sabine focuses on tackling government opportunities and challenges with an emphasis on accountability, transparency, civic participation, and technology-informed governance. Her approach strives to foster trust in the democratic process and values human-centered design.
