Honorary Consul of France for Austin
Liz Wiley is a business and intellectual property attorney with Grable Martin Fulton PLLC, a “general counsel hub,” where she advises startups and small- to medium-sized companies. Her special expertise is supporting French and other non-U.S. startups with their U.S. market entry issues, including managing the regulatory and legal landscape. Since 2012 Ms. Wiley has been connecting business professionals and the creative sectors in Austin, Texas with sister city Angers, France and other French cities such as Montpellier and Marseille, for film and tech collaborations. Part of those connections include presenting to French audiences the Austin ecosystem and the history of Austin’s creative sectors and how those sectors drive the growing Austin economy.
Ms. Wiley was part of the founding team of the French American Business Council of Austin (FABCA), a chamber of commerce focused on supporting business exchanges between companies in Austin and France. She serves as the Chair of the FABCA Board of Directors, is part of the French Tech Austin team, and serves as the legal mentor for French Tech Austin. Because of her passion for education and sensitizing new generations to working seamlessly in a global, multi-cultural economy, she previously served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization, Austin International School (accredited by the French Ministry of Education). Given her longtime dedication to promoting France-Texas initiatives via Austin, the Consul général of France asked her to serve as the Honorary Consul of France for Austin. She has held that post since 2015.
