Storytelling applies to nearly everything we do. Whether it is to inform, persuade, entertain, motivate or inspire, we all tell stories every day of our lives. Yet despite their power, not all stories are effective in holding their audience’s attention or communicating the messages they set out to convey. VR can take viewers closer than ever to experience places of social importance – highlighting where we come from and current issues societies are facing together such as climate change and the refugee crisis. This panel of VR experts in film and cultural heritage discuss how to bring issues to life, create a sense of belonging and empathy that lead to more active citizens in our communities. This panel is in honor of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.
